What Is a Dissertation Defense Presentation?

A dissertation defense presentation is the spoken component of your viva voce (or thesis defense). It’s a 20–60 minute talk where you walk your committee through your research, explain what you found, and demonstrate that you understand your work deeply enough to defend it under pressure.
